A study guide

Caution: imba kids please refrain from reading this post. It is not meant for you, so please do not flame me for it.

A study guide for most typical students in JC:

The math for understanding a typical chapter:
When you leave the lecture hall, it's alright to understand only 20% of the notes
(This is perfectly understandable because lecturers tend to rush through the notes, so we won't have much time digesting what have been taught)

The next 20-30% comes when you slowly read and digest your notes as you attempt your tutorial
(Always read though the notes before you do your tutorial)

That's 50% of the notes up to this stage. When teacher discusses the tutorial in class, you should siege the opportunity to clarify your doubts and boost your understanding of the chapter by another 30%
(80% so far... Don't be afraid to ask questions in class)

Then clarify the remaining 20% with your friends / tutors before your test

That means before your test, you should be able to understand 100% of your notes!

See, it's perfectly fine to walk out from the lecture hall feeling blur / confused! =) In fact it's the norm for most people. The important thing is not to shut down immediately when you are lost (at least try to gain that 20%). And of course another important thing is to complete your tutorial.

If you diligently stick to this formula, I can almost ensure you a pass, and with a little more hard work, an A is certainly not out of reach.

Now for the imba kids.

The math is totally different for them. They know 200% of the chapter even before they attend their first lecture (they have learnt beyond the syllabus through olympiad trainings, readings, research projects, etc etc).

So we shall not bother about them.

=D
